How Much Does Newborn Photography Cost in London?

Pricing is the question parents are most nervous to ask, so let me answer it plainly. In London, newborn photography generally runs from around £150 for a very short mini session up to £1,200 or more for a full studio session with prints and albums. My own in-home packages start at £250.

What you're paying for

• The session itself — usually 2 to 3 hours, deliberately unhurried
• Editing — every image is retouched by hand, which takes far longer than the shoot
• Props, wraps, outfits and backdrops, replaced and laundered constantly
• Insurance, safety training and equipment
• Flexibility — holding an unpredictable slot around your due date

Typical London price bands

£150–£250: mini or Fresh 48 sessions

Short and focused — around an hour, a handful of edited images. Great value if you mainly want a few beautiful photos rather than a full gallery. Fresh 48 hospital sessions usually sit in this band.

£300–£600: full newborn sessions

The most common choice. A 2–3 hour baby-led session with posed newborn portraits, family and sibling photos, and a gallery of 20 to 60+ edited images. All of my main packages sit here.

£700–£1,200+: full collections

A longer session with a large gallery plus physical products — fine-art prints, framed wall art or a hand-bound album. Worth it if you know you want your photos on the wall rather than only on a phone.

Questions worth asking any photographer

• How many edited images are included, and are digitals included at all?
• Is travel to my home included, or charged separately?
• Are wraps, outfits and props provided?
• Are you trained and insured for newborn posing?
• What happens if my baby arrives early or late?

My packages

I keep pricing simple: in-home North London sessions from £250, all props and outfits included, no travel fee inside my usual area, and hand-edited high-resolution digitals in a private gallery. Sibling and parent portraits are part of every session, not an add-on.
