Safety comes before the photograph

A prop should never hold a baby in an unnatural position or be used simply because it looks impressive. Baskets are stabilised and padded, supporting hands remain close, and the baby is never left unattended. Some photographs that appear more complex may require a careful composite rather than placing a newborn at risk. If your baby resists a position, we change the idea immediately.

How we choose a theme

Before the session, tell me which portfolio images you are drawn to and whether there is a colour, animal or family story you would like to include. Two or three set-ups are normally enough. A musician family might choose the tiny ukulele; nature-loving parents may prefer a bunny and flower arrangement. The theme should feel personal without dating the final gallery.

Can you use your own sentimental item?

Yes, when it is safe and suitable. A handmade blanket, a small toy or an item connected to a parent can make the photographs truly yours. I will check its size, texture and stability before using it. Larger or delicate keepsakes can often sit beside the baby rather than supporting them directly, preserving the meaning without compromising safety.

Props are included — you do not need to shop

The props and styling pieces shown in my portfolio are available as part of the session, so there is no need to buy single-use newborn outfits or baskets. Sessions start from £250 and take place at home across North London. Alongside styled images, I always recommend simple baby portraits and family photographs so your finished gallery has both playful character and lasting simplicity.
